For information on purchasing bank and government owned homes:
U.S. Government
Usually a good number of homes for sale. Just click on your state and type in the city or zip you're looking for. Very user- friendly.
Hud (SC)
Fill in information under the "Homebuyer's Corner" section on the left side. The zip code should be enough since there is usually only one page of properties in any of the local zip codes. The main North Augusta zip code is 29841.
Hud (GA)
The best way to search here would be to include either the city of the zip code, depending on how specific an area you're looking for.
Fannie Mae
Much less inventory than HUD, but you can find some excellent values here sometimes.
Freddie Mac
Sometimes they have homes for sale in our area, other times they don't. Keep checking back.
Bank of America
Usually no more than a property or two per city or county, but worth checking out.
Numerous smaller foreclosed home sites
We've highlighted some of our favorites above, but this site includes a nearly exhaustive list of all the serious foreclosure sites on the net. Worth looking into, but make sure you hit those sites listed above first. Some of the sites linked to from this page may require you to register or pay a small fee. It's probably not worth it to pay for a search, but it's up to you.
